"Each defeated Raptor earns the player 16 experience and 29 Talons, a substantial bounty when starting the game. If the player defeats all four Raptors, they receive a Petal, 50 additional Talons, and a villager in Fire Eyes' Village (middle hut) will give them a free Grass Vest. All of these rewards combine for a total of 286 Talons and 64 exp. If the player has defeated enough Wimpy Flowers or Mosquitoes to have 6 Petals, they will go over the limit to have 7."

Some weeks ago, it happened once to me, that I defeated only one raptor and then died. After that I also got the Grass Vest from the hud, but no other rewards. I tried to replicate it with different scenarios (dog always ead, only dog kills raptor, etc.) but could not replicate it. That could mean, something else than just defeating all four raptos can also trigger the Grass Vest present.

"The player can only encounter 5 of these in total."

What does this excactly mean?

What has this to do with "Raptor (Intro)" page? This info should be better moved to a volcano pipes page.

"The player can only encounter 5 of these in total." means exactly what it says, there are only 5 of the enemy in the game. As for the Volcano Pipes Raptor, it is here because it is the same type of Raptor. I'll look into the Grass Vest info. DrakeyC (talk) 14:38, July 16, 2020 (UTC)

Ok, so the subject are the raptors. Wasn't that clear.
Maybe it could be written as "The player can only encounter 5 of these raptors in total." to make it clear on what it refers to.

I defeated an escalating number of Raptors without beating them all, but only beating them all awards the Grass Vest. Between that and your own findings, not much to say until we can confirm what else triggers it. DrakeyC (talk) 15:12, July 16, 2020 (UTC)

I also tried it dozends of times. Could not replicate it. My best guess was. Start completenew game, dont pickup any ingredient, didn't use any pedal and didn't kill any enemy but the first raptor. Not sure if this triggers the mechanic. But this was the setup I went to this situation.

1) found out what triggers the gratis Grass Vest. Suprisingly it has nothing to do with raptors, picked up ingredients, items or killed enemies. None is relevant. You can die within the raptor room without killing any raptor. It's ridiolous. The only thing which is needed... after waking up in the hud, just leave the village (north, south, east - it does not matter, leaving to the west doesn't count) and come straight back into the village. That's it, nothing more. That also means: The Grass Vest is not primarily a reward for beating all four raptors (it only makes the leaving of the image unnecessary which I think is implied after going north in the raptor room into the village - just a guess)

And the best thing of this is: you can sell the Gras Vest for 30 talons and get it again. this can be repeated infinetely. And just as I am writing this, I remember that I already did this 10 or 15 years ago and now I remember. That means, farming money - 30 talons each sell - without any enemy contact and exp gaining. that allows buying enough ingredients and to beat thraxx at level 1 with ease. I expect that this will exploit the Thraxx achivements (patch)  easily.

2) for the pedal the boy can receive from the woman in the hud next to the hotel: this only will be offered if the boy's or the dog's HP is not at max. She also sometimes gives it not away after the first dialog, sometimes two are needed.

3) As a side note: The trigger for the village armor seller to have new stock is the possession of levitate (not salabog beaten) As I also tested with debug ring and using "full equipment" I got new stock message after entering the armor seller hud. I edited the savegame until it was clear it only depends on having levitate obtained.
